Are you under attack on today? Perhaps you have been under attack for weeks or even months in terms of your finances, a problem in a relationship, or even a sickness in your body. Many times, we think of attacks from the devil (or enemy) as being a catastrophic event such as a murder, vehicle crash, or even terminal illness. Most often though, the devil attacks through accusations leveled against us.
The word "devil" in the Greek is the word "diabolos" which means false accuser, slanderer, or literally "someone who casts through making charges that bring down and destroy" according to Strong's Concordance. If you are dealing with a strained relationship for example, the enemy might say something like this, "If I had just done more for that person maybe our relationship would be better." Notice that the enemy uses the personal pronoun "I" in the preceding sentence. Consequently, you think you are having that thought but it is the enemy that has injected that inflammatory accusation in your mind! The accusations of the enemy also often pressure you to take action to "fix the problem" because of the condemnation and guilt you harbor as a result of "causing the problem." You might also be dealing with an illness and may have the thought that if you had not committed some action in your past perhaps you would not have the sickness in your body.
What we must realize though is that God wants us to have good relationships and to be healthy despite sin in our past. Galatians 3:13 states that "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us." Even when we miss it, we do not have to receive the enemy's accusations that we deserve to be in a negative condition because we "deserve it." We may "deserve it" but God has not given us what we "deserve" because of what Christ has done by taking our mistakes, sin, and shame on the cross upon Himself. Quite honestly, God has given us what we do not deserve as Believers. We are eternally established in God's righteousness (Isaiah 54:14) and perpetually in right standing with God! Now we have God's grace, health, favor, and life!!! We don't even need to succumb to the pressure of trying to "fix" the current problem we are confronted with but can rest in God like we talked about on yesterday. Continue to cultivate your personal relationship with your Heavenly Father, rest in Him, don't receive the lies of the devil, and trust God to fix the problem because He has made you perpetually righteous!
