1 John 3:21
The way we receive any of the promises of God is by faith. We cannot operate in faith if we are not confident though. How was Jesus able to consistently and perpetually heal people and manifest the promises of God? Jesus was able to do these things because He had total confidence before God. There was no sin in His life, no sin in His heart, and He knew He was righteous. Being sin conscious or feeling condemned will cause us to feel unworthy to receive the best of God and prevent us from operating in faith to receive His promises. Once we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we also receive the free gift of righteousness (Romans 5:17). This righteousness is not based on our actions, but on the fact that God made “him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). On the cross, Jesus took all our sins and we received His righteousness. We must realize that we are established in righteousness (Isaiah 54:14) so that we too can operate in the faith that Jesus did to positively change our own lives and the lives of those around us. Cast not away your confidence, because it has great recompence of reward (Hebrews 10:35).
